Product Application guide

After any required ground prep has been completed you can get started applying your products!

Just in case you didn't read the Preparation guide, please ensure that you have at least mowed your lawn to around an inch prior to application.

The Lawn Pack can be applied at any point during the growing season (roughly mid-March to October) as long as soil temperature is above 10C. Most of you won't have a soil thermometer so please wait for 12C weather temperature for 2 weeks and no frost on the horizon before seeding.

If applying in spring: the earliest suitable time could be anywhere from mid-March to early May depending on how quick the weather warms up. If in doubt, leave it another couple of weeks so you don't waste your seed (you can seed all the way until autumn so there's no rush!).

If applying in autumn: soil temperatures hold quite consistent so you can often seed later than you think just keep an eye on the first frosts of the year. Your pack will last until spring if you are worried it has got too cold.

All these products are applied on the same day.

Stronger Roots Grass Seed & Mycorrhizal Seed Enhancer

Mix Mycorrhizal Seed Enhancer with the seed in the bag.

Spread the grass seed using a spreader or by hand. Ensure there is an even coverage across the lawn. Spread at 20g/m2+, using more seed in the barer patches. There is no problem with exceeding these amounts particularly in thinner areas.

Walk in lines from one end of the lawn to the other to ensure even coverage. Doing multiple passes of the lawn helps even coverage (one can be up and down and the other can be side to side).

Rake the seed in gently to any topdressing/topsoil if you have applied beforehand or scatter a thin layer of topdressing/topsoil on top (this is beneficial for germination and will help protect from birds). Rake the seed gently into the loosened top layer of soil in any bare patches. If the seed does not have good contact with the soil because it is sitting on top of your existing grass, you can rake it through.

Compact the lawn with a roller or tread it in gently.

Seed to soil contact is essential for results so be careful to ensure you have maximised this.

Seeding Success Fertiliser

Scatter the Seeding Success Fertiliser using a spreader. You can apply by hand (with gloves) but you must ensure an even coverage across the lawn or it will lead to an uneven growth and potential scorching. Try to not extend the application amounts for your lawn size which are stated on the label.

Biostimulant Booster

Our biostimulants can be applied using a watering can with a fine rose head or using a pump/pressure spray.

The biostimulants must be diluted in water before application. The amount of water and biostimulant required for your lawn size is on the label. Mix well in your chosen container before application.

Watering

The lawn will need watering immediately after applying The Lawn Pack. A light watering with a fine spray to moisten the top couple inches of soil will do.

Now check out our Aftercare guide for post-application success.

Protecting From Birds

If you haven't covered your seed with topdressing then there is a chance that a portion of your seed may become bird feed which can prevent results. To protect from birds you can apply a germination sheet over the lawn or you can use bird deterrents such as shiny moving objects or motion sprinklers.
